Bankruptcy:

Howick, Westfall, McBryan & Kaplan’s bankruptcy lawyers have extensive experience. Our firm is usually retained by financial institutions (large and small) to represent their interests in bankruptcy cases throughout Georgia, and the southeastern United States.   We are efficient, and cost-effective when representing creditors and business debtors. We do not represent individuals in consumer bankruptcy cases due to our primary practice of representing financial institutions.

Our Bankruptcy attorneys are also litigators, appearing in State and Federal Courts throughout Georgia. All lawyers of the firm work together to achieve the best result for the client.  In particular, as often with Bankruptcy cases, there is a real estate component to the case. In such situations, our bankruptcy lawyers work with the Real Estate group to formulate a lending or restructuring platform that benefits our clients. Additionally, the Bankruptcy and Litigation groups work together on Receivership matters. Both Lou McBryan ( Bankruptcy) and Susan Howick (Litigation) have been appointed Receivers by Superior Courts of Georgia.

Our Bankruptcy group has significant experience in many industries, and businesses, including automobile floor-planning, real estate development, and manufacturing. Further, we have represented secured and unsecured creditors, creditors committees, and trustees. Lou McBryan, our partner in charge of the bankruptcy section was recognized by Georgia Trend Magazine as one Georgia’s Legal Elite in 2007 for Bankruptcy law.
