Recognizing that the practice of law is paper-intensive, Howick, Westfall, McBryan & Kaplan, LLP has taken steps to conserve energy usage and minimize the consumption of natural resources. Partnering with the ABA-EPA, the firm has adopted “best management” office paper management practices, including recycling at least 90% of mixed office paper and purchasing paper with at least 30% post consumer recycled content. Where practical, copiers and printers are set to provide double-sided copying and printing for all drafts and internal documents. In addition, the firm recycles 100% of its aluminum cans and reduces waste by using a water cooler, washable coffee mugs, glassware, plates and flatware. The firm’s emails contain a tag line recognizing its certification as an ABA-EPA Law Office Climate Challenge Partner by the Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources (SEER) of the American Bar Association. |
