Combining substantial experience with original thinking, Howick, Westfall, McBryan & Kaplan’s Bankruptcy Group has forged a national reputation. Our organization, experience and technological capabilities enable us to handle a large volume of consumer bankruptcy cases efficiently and cost-effectively. Our Bankruptcy Group has significant experience in many industries and businesses, including automobile floor planning, real estate development and manufacturing. Further, we have represented secured and unsecured creditors, creditor’s committees and trustees. Lou McBryan, head of the Bankruptcy Group, was recognized by Georgia Trend Magazine as one of Georgia’s Legal Elite in 2007 and 2009 for bankruptcy law and creditors' rights. Our bankruptcy attorneys are also litigators, appearing in State and Federal Courts throughout Georgia. Many bankruptcy cases involve a real estate component. In such situations, our bankruptcy lawyers work with the Real Estate, Lending and Transaction Group to formulate a lending or restructuring platform that benefits our clients. Additionally, the Bankruptcy and Litigation Groups work together on receivership matters. Both Lou McBryan (Bankruptcy) and Susan Howick (Litigation) have been appointed Receivers by Superior Courts of Georgia. Our firm is usually retained by financial institutions (large and small) to represent their interests in bankruptcy cases throughout Georgia and the southeastern United States. We do not represent individuals in consumer bankruptcy cases due to our primary practice of representing financial institutions. For additional information, please contact our Bankruptcy Group now. |
